NoteScanner

How NoteScanner handles documents, PDFs, notes, audio, signatures, device permissions, local storage, sharing, and limited technical telemetry.

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Privacy-first design: NoteScanner’s current release primarily processes and stores user documents locally on the device. It does not provide a production cloud-backup service or require a NoteScanner account.

This Privacy Policy explains how NoteScanner (“NoteScanner,” “the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) accesses, processes, stores, uses, and shares information when you use the NoteScanner mobile application.

NoteScanner is a document-scanning, PDF-management, annotation, eSignature, audio-note, and note-organization application.

1. Summary of Our Privacy Approach

  • Your scanned documents, PDFs, notes, audio notes, annotations, and signatures are primarily processed and stored locally on your device.
  • NoteScanner does not operate a server that stores your document content in the current release.
  • NoteScanner does not sell your personal information.
  • The current release does not contain third-party advertising networks.
  • The current release does not provide a production cloud-backup or synchronization service.
  • Sharing a document occurs only when you choose to export or share it.
  • NoteScanner uses Google ML Kit components. Google states that ML Kit may collect limited technical information for diagnostics and usage analytics.

2. Information and Content Processed by the App

When you use NoteScanner features, the App may access or process content that you choose to create, capture, import, edit, organize, or share, including:

  • Camera images captured while scanning documents
  • Imported photos and images
  • PDF documents
  • File names and file metadata
  • Notes and nested note content
  • Audio recordings created as audio notes
  • Drawings, highlights, annotations, and markup
  • Electronic signatures that you create or place on documents
  • Folder, tag, page-order, and other organization information
  • Local app settings and preferences

This user content is used to provide the feature that you requested and is primarily handled locally on your device.

3. Information Not Intentionally Collected by NoteScanner-Operated Servers

The current production design of NoteScanner does not intentionally collect or maintain the following on a NoteScanner-operated server:

  • The contents of your scanned documents
  • The contents of your PDFs
  • Your notes
  • Your audio recordings
  • Your signatures
  • Your annotations or drawings
  • Your contacts
  • Your precise location
  • Your financial or payment information
  • Your messages
  • Your health information
  • Your advertising profile

NoteScanner does not require you to create a NoteScanner account in the current release.

4. Google ML Kit and Limited Technical Telemetry

NoteScanner uses Google ML Kit technologies for document-processing functionality.

According to Google’s ML Kit data-disclosure documentation, ML Kit Android SDKs may automatically collect limited technical information for diagnostics and usage analytics. Depending on the ML Kit component, this may include device and application information, device or installation identifiers, performance measurements, API configuration, feature input/output size information, feature versions, feature events, and error codes.

Google states that the ML Kit data described in its disclosure is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and is not transferred by ML Kit to third parties.

NoteScanner does not use this technical telemetry to read or build advertising profiles from the contents of your documents.

5. How We Use Information and Content

NoteScanner accesses and processes content only as needed to provide requested app functionality, including document capture, single and batch scanning, page detection, crop and rotation, filters, PDF creation, imports, preview, merge and split tools, annotation, eSignatures, notes, audio notes, local search, organization, export, and sharing.

We do not use the contents of your documents, notes, audio recordings, or signatures for targeted advertising.

6. Device Permissions

Camera

Used to capture and scan documents when you choose a scanning or camera-based feature.

Microphone

Used when you choose to create an audio recording or audio note.

Photos, Images, Files, and Storage

Depending on your device and Android version, NoteScanner may access content when you choose to import, open, save, export, or select a file. Older Android versions may require legacy storage permission for certain file operations.

Internet

The Android application includes Internet permission. Internet access may be used by Google ML Kit or other platform components, for required model/component delivery, for opening external web links, or when you intentionally share content through another application or service. The current release does not use a NoteScanner-operated production cloud service to back up or synchronize your scanned documents, PDFs, notes, audio recordings, or signatures.

You can grant, deny, or revoke applicable permissions through your device settings. If you deny a permission, the related feature may not function.

7. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

NoteScanner primarily stores app-created documents, metadata, notes, attachments, annotations, and local database information on your device.

Your locally stored content generally remains until you delete the item, clear NoteScanner’s application data, or uninstall the App, subject to the operating system’s handling of exported files.

Files exported outside NoteScanner’s private application storage may remain on your device after uninstall and can be removed using your device’s file manager or another compatible application.

Because the current release does not provide a NoteScanner account or NoteScanner-operated cloud storage for user content, there is no separate server-side account-content deletion process for locally stored scanned documents, notes, audio recordings, signatures, or PDFs.

Technical information processed by Google ML Kit is handled according to Google’s applicable privacy and retention practices.

8. Sharing and Disclosure of User Content

NoteScanner includes sharing and export features. When you choose to share a supported file, the App may pass that file to the application or service you select through your device’s sharing interface.

NoteScanner does not automatically publish or distribute your documents. After you intentionally transfer content to another application or service, that third party’s privacy policy and data practices apply.

We may disclose information if required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request. Because NoteScanner does not operate a server containing your locally stored document content in the current release, we generally do not possess that local content.

9. Third-Party and Platform Services

NoteScanner relies on mobile operating-system and software components that may process limited information as part of providing their services. These may include Google ML Kit / Google Play services, Android camera and media components, Android file pickers and storage providers, device sharing interfaces, and third-party apps you independently select to receive exported content.

These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. NoteScanner does not control the privacy practices of a third-party application or service that you independently choose to use.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and design measures appropriate to the current architecture of the App, including local app storage and avoiding unnecessary upload of user document content.

The current Android configuration disables standard application backup for the App’s private data. Google states that the ML Kit technical data described in its disclosure is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

No application, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect your device with appropriate security measures.

11. Advertising, Sale of Data, and Profiling

The current release of NoteScanner does not include third-party advertising networks. We do not sell your scanned documents, notes, signatures, audio recordings, or personal information, and we do not use your document content to create targeted-advertising profiles.

12. Children’s Privacy

NoteScanner is a general-purpose productivity application and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

The current release does not require a NoteScanner account and does not operate a NoteScanner server that intentionally stores users’ scanned documents or notes. Parents and guardians should supervise a child’s use of camera, microphone, file-import, document-sharing, and audio-recording features where appropriate.

13. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

You control the content stored locally in NoteScanner. Depending on the feature, you can grant or revoke device permissions, delete locally stored content, remove exported files, choose whether and where to share a file, clear app data, or uninstall the App.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. Because NoteScanner does not operate a user-account or server-based content-storage system in the current release, most NoteScanner user content is controlled directly through your device. Information collected independently by Google ML Kit or another third-party service is subject to that provider’s privacy-rights and request procedures.

14. International Processing

NoteScanner does not operate production servers that store your scanned document content in the current release. Third-party platform providers such as Google may process limited technical information in countries or regions where they operate, subject to their own privacy policies and applicable data-transfer safeguards.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to NoteScanner’s functionality, SDKs, permissions, data practices, legal requirements, or security practices.

If a future production version introduces cloud backup, user accounts, synchronization, remote OCR or AI processing, advertising, server-side document conversion, or additional analytics, we will update this Privacy Policy and relevant Google Play Data Safety disclosures as appropriate.
